The Michigan Mission of Mercy event provides dental treatment to low-income families who may not have access otherwise.

Professional Endodontics planted its roots in Detroit, Michigan in 1951. Since then, our practice has diligently served the communities of southeastern Michigan, branching out to three new state-of-the-art facilities in Clinton Township, St. Clair Shores, and Southfield. At Professional Endodontics, we recognize that without our community, we would not exist. We appreciate and admire the people that allow us to do what we love where we love to do it. That’s why we made the decision six years ago to partner with the Michigan Dental Association (MDA) in their goal to make an impact in Michigan communities. By witnessing the change that the Mission of Mercy event has brought to so many lives, Professional Endodontics was inspired to strengthen our efforts in supporting our wonderful community.

What is the Mission of Mercy event?

Put simply, the main objective of a Mission of Mercy is to bring dental professionals to the community for patients that might not have access to them otherwise. Through a system of portable dental stations set up in a large public arena, the event offers a 100-chair dental clinic provided on a first-come first-served basis. A Mission of Mercy combines the donated services of hundreds of dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental laboratory technicians and an array of volunteers to provide these dental services at no cost to the patients.

The event has grown over the years to attract hundreds of patients, typically lining up outside the night before. We provide care to adults and children, including the following services: gross debridement and prophylaxis, amalgams, composites, extractions, limited endodontics and treatment partials. Some services that are not provided are implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, and molar endodontics.

Each year, a Mission of Mercy has provided nearly $1 million in free dental services to the communities of southeastern Michigan. Professional Endodontics has decided that this is a mission worth getting behind. Contact Professional Endodontics to learn more about our work with a Mission of Mercy, or for any endodontic consultation. We are happy to help in any way that we can.
